I can't STAND this feature of Outlook/Enntourage! It drives me simply bonkers!!! They go from legitimatly high priority issues to VERY low priority... (but they just want the attention).
The vast majority of the email I receive are "normal" and ALL the rest are "Highest."
Nobody at my company uses ANYTHING else. Why not give "high" priority a chance? And is there really a use for the "Low" priority feature?
My question... has ANYONE EVER received a low priority email?

"Bloat all software."
That's in the Microsoft employment manual.

My stupid iPhone game: Nesen Probe, it's rather old, annoying and pointless, but it's free.
Was free. Now it's gone. Never to be seen again.
Off to join its brother and sister apps that could not
keep up with the ever updating iOS. RIP Nesen Probe.

I set up a rule to automatically set the priority back to normal when mail comes in (remove any flags). We used to have a guy working here that figured out how to set follow up flags on emails, so you'd get an email from him and instantly get a reminder window telling you to follow up. Nice to have rules that can remove that crap.
I also turn of the read receipt junk so that no one gets one from me. Drives me nuts to have someone send me an email, watch for the read receipt and then call me as soon as they see me open it.

Yes, move to Apple Mail. Don't kill yourself like that!
It's easy too - just import your mailboxes (archives are imported too), and kiss MS goodbye.

If you are in an environment that utilizes more advanced-type email functions such as shared mailboxes or an extensive archive of email or folder collection, or you require multiple identities, I'd suggest using Thunderbird.

Maybe it's about time Entourage reviewed their options for priority settings based on real-world usage, although I don't blame them for giving us those options in the first place... it's not their fault that nobody bothers to use them.
As for people who send High priority messages, and I'm talking about Outlook now, I find that a few people where I work tend to send a lot of their messages to me with high priority. And they're the ones whose messages are almost never high priority. Even though I end up reading those messages first because they're supposed to be important, it irritates me when I see that they're not high priority at all, and I make it a point not to reply to them until it's their turn. No queue-jumping in MY inbox!

I'll have to look for the global option to do that because so far I only turn it off on a case-by-case basis. It's just two people in my office who use it, but I figure it's nobody's business when I read their e-mail except my own.

If you have a Blackberry, don't forget to turn it off in there as well. Doesn't seem to pick up the setting from Outlook. I didn't realize it was sending them until someone clued me in that they could send me an email to see if I was in the office or not by whether the read receipt came through.

Yikes! That's awful. I did have a Blackberry but I lost it in the snow one day and never bothered to replace it. The monthly bills for it were ridiculous! This is the 21st century for God's sake, why should it cost me $175 because I looked up a few Google maps and accessed my Google mail? But I'm going off-topic... sorry...
