Anyone want to make bets on new/improved features? I'v got 5 bucks on transparency in the menubar. Any takers?

EDIT: wow 4 pages of SS 2 countdown, that just goes to show how important this app is to the GUI community. Thanks for a great product smeger, keep up the good work.

That's my guess. I think it's those three plus another nontheme format, like iContainer. It has to still work with at least guiKits, lest Unsanity anger the theme gods.

Maybe it can read .msstyles or windowblind themes.

I think it was Slava of Unsanity that said it would (probably) be around 1pm CDT (Central Daylight Time) That's currently GMT -5 I think.

what it means is that ss could read those and not any more. so i would assume he means now it can read more. of what i do not know.

i would be happy if it could just read rsrc files and be able to mix rsrc 's from itunes and the rest and be able to mix or just turn them off etc.

Oh, com'n, that's just mean! That could mean a bajillion different things!

Of course, that's the point, but I just like to whine. Looks like this'll smooth out the lousy Tuesday I'm about to have (AP Calc test).

I'd rather wait 'till tomorrow morning, so all the early adopters will have suffered for us the mandatory .0 version unavoidable bugs (freezes, crashes, SS not accepting your valid serial number, etc.)

What if, by some incredible twist of faith, SS 2.0 goes nuts and installs WinXP's default GUI and it's undoable without a full re-install?

If the apocalypse doesn't materialize, I'll install it ASAP

Now, now. Sorry for cheering you guys up! SS2 isn't out yet. And I think you deserve some good sleep / real life / burnout3 (wait, that's me) or whatever you like to do to spend time. If it's my guess, again I think that the "thing" won't be out for another 8 to 12 hours (from the time of my post).

And yeah, it's a f*** big update. And no, it won't help you babysit or walk your dog for you, that is one of the proposed features for version 42.0, anyway.

Seriously, there are many steps in this particular release, and we gotta make sure everything is working as expected.

Now, now, anyone who gotta attend MWSF is free for kicking mine and smeger's bottoms for teasing you like that. If I get a visa.

Looking at the screen of Azure at Mac15's website I see two possible improvements brought about by SS2.

1) Colored textured windows (I seem to recall they were limited to greyscale...)

2) Ability to change the background color in the Finder's sidebar.

ozzpot, i'm already nervously waiting for SS 2, and now you come along and tease us with the 'next Tuesday' theory.

i might have to admit myself to a white padded room wearing one of those nice jackets if this keeps up...

well, 4:09PM in Aus now... ah well... i might just give up tonight and settle with some Desert Combat Final and check back for SS tomorrow.... although i'm here at college 'till 9PM, so it's going to get pretty boring. who am i kidding, i'll be checking every couple of minutes.

Dude... mac15 accidentally revealed SS 2 features. His guikit is on his website and it is a single .guikit file but according to his site the theme includes:
- 4 Desktops
- Might Mouse Cursor Set
- 8 App skins including iTunes

In otherwords, SS allows theming of cursors and the inclusion of desktops!

I have just seen a tiny grudgeon of Sweet Slumber. Oh dear God it looks awesome! It is dark, gothic, and sexy. Think Ivy from Soul Calibur:

The garish pink is toned down and the whole thing looks damn sweet.

Halloween release I hear? God, I hope so. Would be a shame to miss it. I can't wait.

I thought they may do something like this, but what about people who have, say, just bought mightymouse?
I asked the themer of one particular long awaited SS2.0 theme if SS2.0 incorporated Finder sound effects, like Xounds. He sort of replied with a wink and an "er... I can't say."
I'm sure they will incorporate all the haxies into SS eventually, but the problem of people having already paid for the others may cause some friction.

It doesn't, I haven't uploaded everything yet. There will be a version in dmg and a version in guikit for those who only want the theme.... Sorry to get your hopes up. It's still gonna be a dmg
