Hmmm. 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. I was sorta surprised that there wasn't a thread to honor the vets today. Wait a minute, this is MacNN. I take that back, I'm not surprised.

Oh well.
Let's honor all those who have served and are currently serving in the armed forces. And also those who have died to serve our great country.

I think this picture is appropriate:

Thank you for starting a thread. And you're all welcome, even the folks that don't appreciate it.

No problem. I knew something was wrong when I got on here today.

The fact is we would all be lamp shades if we didn't have people fighting for our lives.

Again, two Orwell quotes:

"We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."
If you hamper the war effort of one side, you automatically help out that of the other. Nor is there any real way of remaining outside such a war as the present one. In practice, he that is not with me is against me.

Ummm, someone beat you to it by over 12 hours. But thanks for assuming all the "Lefties" here at MacNN don't care about the troops.

Jackass!!!!
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

I thank all veterans. In fact, I'm going to call my dad right now. Veteran of WWI (barely), Korea and Vietnam.

Nope, I didn't actually. I've had very little computer access today. My apologies for assuming no one had done it.

Oh, and I hope my post above didn't come off wrong. I was referring to people here being unappreciative, I was speaking of people in general that don't appreciate the sacrifices that are made on their behalf.
