I usually help my mom out with her mac via leopards screen sharing option and while this has shaved me hours of frustration I cant figure out how to return to video chat after completing the screen sharing session. any answers?

From the iChat help:

If you need to quickly end a screen sharing session, press Control-Escape.

Not sure if that takes you back to whatever chat you were doing, but it's the only keystroke described in the Help.

I tend to separate the two: I'll use the Screen Sharing application (/System/Library/CoreServices/) when needed and iChat/Skype for video chat. I've had too many issues with screen sharing in iChat for me to count on it.

OK I'll try it - I hope this doesn't kick me out of my session....
