I've been backing up my 10.7 Lion Macbook Pro to my NAS using Time Machine for quite a while now. The other day, I wiped out my Macbook and installed a fresh copy of 10.8 Mountain Lion, and restored most of my stuff (docs, pics, etc) from my Time Machine backup. Now I want to set up (or rather "re-set up") my Time Machine backup programme. Can anyone tell me how I would go about setting things up so that the next Time Machine backup I make seamlessly integrates into the existing .sparsebundle? Or do I have to start from scratch?

If you restored from Time Machine directly when installing the OS (it asks you), it will continue to use the backup.

Nope, I didn't do it that way...I installed the OS, then manually retrieved a few things from the TM backup.
