Is this a common problem? It seems like it might be. My right hand rests there when I am using trackpad. I only had one time when the CD wouldn't eject on the first try due to this, I think.

Just once it failed to eject the CD on the first try. I saw the edge of the CD show up and then it sucked it right back in. I'm sure it will get worse with time, but I am also being more careful about how much pressure I apply there with the palm of my hand.

So you think that bend is bad - WELL - I put my elbow there and I had to use a wood popcicle stick to open it back up. Tried a metal device first and discovered it left a bad mark - thus the wood. It sticks a little but does work. NO more elbow on PB. Soon time to purchase a new one any way.

This happened to my PowerBook too. Haven't had any functional problems as a result, but it sure looks like sh!t.

I have the same problem with my powerbook, but as long as you can use the drive, and you need a poster behind it to actually clearley see the cosmetic defect, like you did, there isn't really anything wrong.
