My wife is beautiful and intelligent (except for the part about marrying me-I still haven't figured that part out...), and is NOT interested in hanging with gay guys instead of me. We're best friends, which is pretty darn handy, let me tell you. We have differing interests, but enough in common that we can understand each other's interests and share them to an extent.

I've never even dated a "ball buster" woman... I must have lead a sheltered life.

For her, I was saying that, but I'm not arguing with the feminist movement. Women do need to be treated equally. But saying that men are trying to control them is just incorrect from what I see on a regular basis. This is just because of my college experience getting me upset. What is empowering about being a sex fiend again? There is always feminist seminars going on around my school. Generally, they're gathering where women can purchase/learn to use sex toys and gorge out on chocolate. But when I called one of them a sleazy pervert (same thing that happens when men leave a sex shop with a porno and a candy bar), I got a nasty look and they told me that I wasn't open enough and I should take my male dominated society elsewhere.

er....have you read the news lately? In fact, there's a lot of pressure in this country to roll back protections women have to control their fertility, ie have babies when they want to. And it's not just the abortion red herring. Access to contraception is being erroded in incremental ways all around us.

I love this one. It's so old and tired and used. There is simply no correlation between appearance and feminism or between feminism and ability or desire to get a man. Feminists look like everyone else, including the good-looking everyone else.

It's a convenient rationalization to think that the only reason women might want to get the same $$ for a job or be able to have access to contraception is cause they're ugly.

The reply from socially just reminded me of a story my father told me; when he was young there was a man in the village he grew up in and that man married a woman not very attractive (and she was not fat, fat does not mean the person does not have a beautiful face) and most people who did not like to mind their own business would ask him why he married her because she was not very attractive, the man would answer if only you could see her with my eyes.

Well, I'm not sure exactly where you're coming from, seeing as many girls I know have started on birth control "lately" and I still know places giving out free abortions... (You should know that the laws aren't going anywhere)
I just want everyone to realize that it takes two to conceive a child. Why doesn't the man ever get a damn say in it? The entire child rearing and birthing laws have been so woman centric in the past few years (Why does the man get no say in abortion, adoption, but still has to pay child support if the child is born? Why are there still states that require a man to financially support a child that is not their own simply because they were married to a woman and she cheated on him?)

While it's true that beauty is subjective, there's no denying the difference:

A VAST majority of people will choose the same person as the more beautiful.
I tell my girlfriend she is beautiful all the time. People that new me in high school comment all the time about how pretty she is, frankly I think they're surprised at how well I did, considering what a nerd I was. But she's also intelligent, she was 2nd in her high school class with a 3.9something and she's going to be a vet.

Exactly - I chose that example specifically for the reason that it's impossible to figure out who is taking advantage of who. Are the blokes who buy it taking advantage of the women "acting" in it? A lot of guys with no clue try to be more like women (i.e. sensitive) because they seem to think that this will assist them in the acquisition of "bosom time". Indeed. The whole way I hooked her in the first place was by ignoring her and acting like I had more important girls to talk to. Then she felt great when she got to talk to me a little bit at all. It hasn't been very long, and it still is debatable that there is complete equality in pay in other fields. I would tend to think that it isn't, but I don't have any real numbers to go by.

Think of all the rich powerful people in the world, how many women make this list? Why is that? Well, when women act aggressive and assertive like you have to to succeed like men do, they get labeled as cold fish and are not liked. This is exactly how Hilary Clinton has been pigeonholed, when in reality she seems like a very strong and confident woman with qualities that intelligent men should admire (putting her political beliefs aside, which is a whole other conversation).

Condeleeza Rice, the former HP CEO, umm... who else can you think of that is high up on the food chain in the world, is liked, and is female? Pretty short list... HOw many white dudes?
