Every time there is an economic summit, the Rent-a-Mob hoards show up, smash windows, vandalize property, and wave around the same idiotic signs (Capitalism ISN'T Working; G20 is Pea Brain; etc). They claim to represent popular sentiment and legitimate dissent, but breaking property and attacking police is not a form of legitimate protest, and their views on how society should function don't seem to resonate with anyone but themselves.

Furthermore, they never offer any alternative solution. They protest everything, but never suggest any alternatives to capitalism, democracy, etc. These are just deranged, spoiled kids looking to hijack the political process.

Maybe the "G" stands for "Gypsies".

It stands for group, as in Group of 20 industrialized and developing nations. The G7/8 have annual summits, as does the G20.

This is wrong. Ever since I changed it, Wikipedia says it means Gypsies.

Gypsies have annual summits too. Check the article.

I grew up surrounded by these people and I agree that there are very few things more annoying then privileged 20 year olds who hate the "system" enough to break things.

Go live on a farm or shut up. Stop smoking pot and go volunteer in a hospital. You are just as much of a part of the system as anyone.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Please don't insult the chavs by comparing them to this scum.

I thought this thread was going to be about how to annoy G20 protesters.

Well, judging by the banners they're holding up, just be a consumer. Spend spend spend!

Given that the G20 is 2.5 times more inclusive than the G8, are G20 protests 2.5 times smaller than G8 protests? Hmm...

I dunno, nearly 300 years ago it was throwing tea into a harbour, now its evolved.

I generally think that if certain actions scare the politicians, then it can't be all bad. But then I do keep loaded firearms in my house.

A man collapsed while walking home from work amid the protests.

"The Met said that as the officers tried to revive Mr Tomlinson they came under attack from protesters who threw bottles at them. "

"Mr Tomlinson was eventually pronounced dead at hospital and a post-mortem examination will be carried out this afternoon. "

That's Lee Hottie, ain't it? He of the "I want to get beaten up by a load of cage fighters" fame?

For reference, here's some pointers. And pics.

These are actual chavs. Much like the guidos, they actually try to look "presentable" in their own unique way - they still like the bling and would have no objection to driving around in a Ferrari/Porsche if someone handed one to them (whereas one of the filthy leftist scum up top would usually spit at a Ferrari - I've seen it happen).
Usually as thick as pigshit, chavs do at least try to better themselves and aren't opposed to capitalism but usually remain poor because of their inherent pigshitness. If they had money to buy fake tan, they'd be guidos (much like the king of the chavs above). Note the dude at the lower left sporting a "wethead" - this is a standard chav haircut and can be observed widely. As can the use of caps and Burberry. Here's a female chav with a bit of money:

Compare with the dirty unwashed leftie hippie scum up top. The dirty unwashed leftie hippie scum are completely opposed to capitalism except when mummy buys them a pair of Nikes or rents them an empty house that they can pretend is a squat. Often seen sporting "punk" haircuts and/or with non-natural hair colouring.

That picture explains why the nuances could get lost from 3,000 miles away. They do such a lousy job of hitting the mark, it's no surprise it needed to be explained to me what they were aiming for.

As a group, they clearly revel in whatever the hell it is they think they are, which led me to the conclusion it was along the lines of "low class... and loving it!"
