This year, dinner at the in-laws (with about 50 relatives). Traditional turkey and all the usual. They never do anything original or different. I asked my wife this morning if people would freak out if we made Pakoras. She was inclined the think it would upset things.

Our family get-together is going to be with local family and on Friday, since both my wife and son have to work Thursday. On Thursday, I'll be doing some housework and maybe actually getting a nap.
One thing a dinner on Friday does is completely eliminate any suggestion that any of us go shopping on Friday. <shudder!>

Some may argue the whole point of Thanksgiving is tradition.
My partner and I haven't decided yet what to do. Our first thought was to put on a traditional Turkey Day feast and invite some of our Dominican friends over but we quickly realized it would cost a fortune. The local SuperMercado wants US$50 for a small Turkey.
I think we may end up going to Burger King!

Driving 60 miles to the usual family get-together at my cousin's big house. Listen to my mom talk about how forgetful she is getting. Listen to my aunt talk about the same stuff as last year. Have a couple of beers. Eat turkey. Eat sweet potatoes. Maybe some pie. Drive 60 miles home. Rain/snow mix expected tomorrow. Woot!

Thursday is dinner with the wife's family, Saturday is dinner with my family. With any luck, Friday will be spent in the garage and playing with the new puppy.

Yes, very good point. I do love turkey and dressing. And the cooking is always excellent.

Spending it at my youngest daughter's, with some family. My oldest daughter is coming home as well, so it will be very enjoyable.

We're shutting down the game server for the day and doing some upgrades and configuration type stuff.
As far as eating goes, I doubt it'll be anything out of the ordinary.

Driving to my oldest sister's place in south-central Ohio. I am coming from Madison with my Mom coming from Syracuse. She's got an 8-hour drive and I have a 9-hour drive. It's a perfect meet-up location. Many beers will be consumed with my brother-in-law and I get to play Crazy Uncle Dennis to my two nieces* (aged 3.5 and 5.5). A good time will be had by all. (My other sister will be in New York City this year. Her girlfriend's brother lives there so they are going to visit him and do the whole Macy's Parade thing.)
*I've always heard that young boys have WAY more energy than young girls but I find that really hard to believe. I will play with these two all day long and be exhausted by 8:00PM when they go to bed. It's an awesome kind of exhaustion as I have a blast playing with them--indoors, outdoors, maybe a trip to the playground or the local park--but I can't imagine how their energy level is significantly less because they are girls.

Go to the in-laws, eat and then I can choose: Sit at the table with the old women and listen to chatter and gossip, or sit with the old men and watch A&E all day.
Fun.

Drive to grandmother's house, eat food with family, argue with family, watch football, celebrate Packers' win, more food, more arguing, more football, more pie, drive home, enjoy 10 hour turkey coma.

When you're bored with that I hear there's this game called 'Snood' that's pretty popular.
Also, prepare to be consumed by F3.

I'm having KFC at home with my wife while watching Glee.
No, I can't get a turkey where I live nor do I have an oven.
Yes, my life is pain and sadness.

Hey, you have them at least. I know a bunch of people who'll be sitting in front of the tube alone today...or sitting a very long way away from home with a bunch of other guys who are all alone today. You have a lot to be thankful for.

After twenty years of being with my wife and having two families to deal with, I personally would love a thanksgiving with just my mom and sister.

If it's any consolation, I can't get Sushi, Dim Sum, Indian, Vietnamese, or even Italian where I live. I take that back...if I drive 45 minutes away I can find Italian.

We are getting ready to head out to shoot guns and ride quads. At some point we are going to eat, but I don't think it will be a traditional turkey dinner.
Tonight we are hitting the strip hard.
Oh, I am in Vegas on vacation. Will be here for another three days.

We are just having local family come over but the gathering isn't until dinner time so there is time for relaxing before everything starts. No matter how old we get my Mom is one of those people who likes doing most of the cooking herself so we help out here and there but there is still a lot of downtime. It gives me time to surf the internet and watch some football on tv.

Rural Appalachia. They tolerate mexican food because it has beef, beans, and cheese. Beyond that, you better like McDonald's, pizza, or steak.

Domokun had a four piece chicken basket, a large coke, fries that his wive ate most of, and then a cookie.
Today Domokun is suffering from eating all that KFC.
Yes, Thanksgiving is the ONLY time during the year I eat KFC. Now please leave me alone, I need some time at my desk to feel crappy.

I'm in Florida with my wife's family, just north of Destin. Tomorrow morning we're heading down to Destin for shopping (and probably a little picture-taking). I hate that they live 8 hours away, but I love that they live next to one of the prettiest beaches in the U.S.

Well, I'm bloated and hungover. I think I drank a box of wine yesterday.
The rest of the family ate two deep fried turkeys - the things looked like fried dog to me. But lots of trimmings and deserts - everyone was happy and full, and we counted our blessings. But subtracted for transportation costs/travel time, dry cleaning expenses...
today I'm at the office for some odd reason, but it's nice and quiet - a great place to recoup. Gonna watch that new Star Trek movie and relax.
