1st Mac, 1984... 128k Macintosh...I was a junior in High School at the time.... you had to stick a little floppy disk in it to operate. It had MacWrite..a basic word editing program, MacPaint, which was sort of like a basic cave painting illustration program.
I used it until 1992 for basic paper writing basically... then I replaced it with a Performa 400... then to a Performa 550, then a 7200, then a G3 tower, G4 tower 400, to my present G4 1.42 dual.
Interesting how the original Macintosh lasted me longest in terms of years of use. (and it actually still works).

It was either late, late '98 or early '99 if I recall correctly...a Blueberry iMac, then came the Indigo iMac DV+, then came the TiBook 500, then came the TiBook 667 DVI, then came....

1999 Lombard.
That mofo was thick & heavy. I really liked the black though, and the up-side-down apple logo.

1492, Yeah, and I kicked that ruffled-necked Spaniard overboard and got a... Wait a minute, that was a previous life.
I got my first Mac (a PowerMac 5400) in 1997. It begat a Smurftower, the Smurftower begat an FP iMac G4/800, the iMac will begat a G5 iMac -that is if Apple cooperates.

Jon gave me an ancient Mac SE, my first computer, in 1998-ish. Then, an LC III. However, after that I started moving to the Windows world. I got "new" macs, a Quadra and a Power Mac 7100, but the more powerful and Internet-connected PCs we bought (IBM PS/2 AFAIK, overhauled to Pentium w/Win95, then a Compaq 200-3xx Mhz thing w/WinNinety-hate, 98, then an Athlon 1Ghz first w/98, then w/XP) lured me away. They also were Internet-connected, and I really liked the Internet (yes, I know, Quadras and Power Macs are Internet-capable, but I never bothered.)
My first modern Mac? An iBook 900 14", bought in June 2003 or so. It's also my current Mac.
Sidenote: Grandma bought an iMac around 1999. I really liked it. Then she bought a clamshell iBook.

1983 - My parents bought an Apple IIe.
1993 - I bought a LCIII.
(I should be getting my Dual 1.8 in the next couple of days.)
It's pretty amazing when you think about the technology advances that happen in a span of ten years.

80's
Gramps got a 128K in '84, my fam got a 512ke in '85 ('86? It was a long time ago....)
90's
Original LC (40MB HD, ooooohhhhhh!) and Powerbook 170, then Performa 6400 to start college... Junior year hopped to a Desktop Powermac G3/266.
00's
2001, Dad got another one (Desktop Biege PM) off eBay with a G4 450, He also picked up a used iMac 300 (eBay, he's addicted..)
I bought a DP800 late last year, and bought my mom a 17' 1Ghz iMac for her b-day this summer.
Finally, I have a stock G5 DP 1.8 arriving tomorrow, Christmas present for dad from myself and my mother....
I think my next new machine will be the G6. Guessing early 2005?
The sad thing is, while I sold my PM G3/266 to help pay for my QS DP800, every other machine is sitting in my parents house collecting dust. Considering how much of an eBay addict my dad is, it's funny that he refuses to sell any of the old machines, much to the irritation of my mother. I didn't even list the random Apple printers lying around...

May 88. a Mac Plus with a Stylewriter II printer. I later spent $450 for a 40Mb hard drive and 200$ to bring it to the full potential of 4Mb of Ram.
I also remember spending $300 for a 48Mb Ram upgrade on my PowerComputing...

Mac Classic in '91, used that all the way up to '98(didn't have much money, parents didn't think the internet was important). My friend, out of good will gave me a screaming 33MHz 386. This is when my parents saw the value of the internet, but unfortunately exposed them to the PC world. Now finally after getting a job I am able to go back to Mac. Typing this on my iBook G4.

Summer of 1995 a 33MHz Performa 630CD.
System 7.1 and it was the last 040 machine. It was the first machine with a IDE HD. Funny little computer. It is still around here somewhere. It works fine but there isn't space for it to be up and running.
