Adding iTunes artwork - different file sizes

	When I add album artwork to tracks in iTunes by copying and pasting the image directly from Safari, I get larger overall file sizes than when I add artwork by first dragging it to the Desktop and then dragging that file to iTunes. The difference only amounts to about 0.5 MB over the course of an entire album, but it's still just kind of puzzling. Anyone have any idea why this would be?
