I definitely had strong flashbacks when he starting asking for the thread to be locked.

Like What?

HEY, Thinkinsane, Cold Warrior, I don't care who, name the thread "Community Fun Thread" or something like that!

This is the ideal place for fun on the forums.

Hey, I have an idea.

Every week, somebody here makes up the silliest thread they can think of, and then we all get a good dose of fun for the whole week.

I'll be sure not to talk about religion while he is here. I just hope he doesn't venture out into other threads. Just to protect him, maybe he should be banned from all other threads?

(if you are joking) No, he won't do any harm. In fact, why shouldn't he venture out into other threads. It would defeat the purpose of having an account here.

Don't worry, I'll watch out for him Just remember, excluding last night, he has never been on a forum before! If he doesn't understand what something means or doesn't know how to do something, please give him a hand.

But be sure to mention pooping, that ought to make him feel welcome. Everybody poops, after all. Maybe we can get him to tell us his favorite place in the house to poop? We all know yours is in the kitchen. Sadly, at my current residence I don't have a favorite place to poop so I just use the half-bath upstairs. The last place I was living had a nice old toilet and a view out into the backyard and the garden. It always made me want to go poop in the garden at night-time but I was never sure if human feces was an acceptable fertiliser like cow poop. Sigh!

On another poop-related note, my older sister used to sleep-walk as a child and on more than one occasion she would come into my room and poop on the floor in my closet during the night. As a young child myself--I was maybe four when this was happening--I remember there was a permanent stain on the carpeting where she pooped and that memory is still with me today over 35 years later.

No, talk about poop, sex, and anything like that grosses him out. Bad Idea. WOW, I'll be a senior user in no time at all if I keep posting here!

EDIT: well, I guess not too much about sex, since we are both taking SexEd this week. But, still, let's leave that out of this thread!

I was going to lock your thread, which would have caused it to slowly drop out of existence, never to be seen again. But I saw a glimmer of potential in the fact that there were some amusing comments here and there. Instead of locking a thread, as we so often do, I decided to give your thread a new lease on life. To allow it to grow and mature into it's own unique and interesting entity. To let it evolve into a thread the likes of which we here at MacNN Forums have never seen, let alone been a party to. A stream of consciousness to rival the greatest threads in the history of internet message boards. And your a part of that Chief. You started it!

Now, you can keep calling for locking this and locking that, or you can embrace your new found glory, and participate. The choice is yours. Do you want in, or do you just want to stand on the sidelines while the big kids have all the fun and reap all the rewards? Don't you want to be a part of something bigger than yourself? This thread is no longer what it was (and honestly, I'm not really sure what it was), but is now what it is.

I mean look at this mob. Look at them! Sad and lonely, with this thread as the only potential ray of sunshine in there otherwise dreary lives. Would you take that away? Think about what you'd be denying these fine folks. Turtle recently lost his job manually stimulating horses for reproductive purposes due to the poor economy. Do you want to deprive him of his one glimmer of hope in these dark times? Besson has never seen a real woman naked (I know bess, but seriously if she used to be a dude it doesn't really count). Are you going to deprive him of this thread, where he can feel relatively normal, with out judgement from his peers? Spheric Harlot collects antique soda can pull-tabs. What kind of life is that? Sweet christ on a cup cake, Space Monkey has never been to space and judging by his picture, he's not even a proper monkey. Maybe a bush baby at best. Oisín is a female to male transexual who lives his life as a female transvestite. I could go on, but do I really need to? This thread is all these people have!
Hey, as long as we're being grammar nazis here, what with all the discussion on baited vs. bated breath, that should be its, you're, newfound, without, and cupcake.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

OK. I'm back from my poop--see Alexander's religion thread in the PWL for the reference--and am waiting with baited breath for the arrival of Alexander. Six minutes to go.

Dammit. I can't believe I let a 'your' slip by. That's my second biggest pet-peeve. I should punch myself in the face for that. I noticed cupcake and STILL neglected to fix it. Inexcusable.
