Hi everyone. I'm just curious as to what version you use. This poll will remain open. There is not a set close date.

I find it the most stable version of all of them. And the menu bar isn't translucent.

You can turn off the translucent menu bar. I personally find it most annoying as well.

How? I don't want to have to use the terminal or 3rd party hacks..

Tell me you're joking! Are you seriously running Cheeta? Yeah, Leopard would be worth it, but I started out with Tiger. I don't even know what Cheeta looks like. There are undoubtedly HUGE differences. You will need a G4. G5, or Intel machine with 512 MB RAM. Also, be aware that SL will require an intel processor.

G4 and 512 MB..
My "volleyball" iMac is a G4 800 and I've maxed it out at 1GB of RAM. Maybe I should consider an upgrade to leopard!
SL?

SL=Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6).
Snow Leopard will require an intel machine. Yeah, think about upgrading, but you may wish to wait for Snow Leopard and then buy a new machine. It would probably save money in the long run.

I would stick to Tiger -which is excellent-, given your CPU is 800MHz your iMac is not officially supported by Leopard. Sure there are workarounds, and maybe your GPU NVIDIA GeForce 2MX could be supported since the Power Mac QuickSilver 867 MHz -which is supported by Leopard- came with the same GPU, but you would have to look for info about people who had done it -installing 10.5 onto the same iMac you have- and after all if you were running Cheetah you will find 10.4 amazingly good.

I didn't use Leopard until 10.5.4 was released and have been happy ever since.
