I'm not sure I'm liking it the new look that msnbc is sprouting. Tough to put my finger on it but its so in your face. Just an explosion of news stories.

Seems visually overwhelming or something

n: Don't like it at all. I hate websites that don't take advantage of widescreen monitors.

What do you mean? Web pages are supposed to be the size of a text document. The idea that a web browser window taking up the ENTIRE screen is basically a MS GUI design one. And not one that most Mac users I know use.

Most decent web designers design their sites within a "document" page limit.

For good reason. Higher resolution and bigger monitors just means more screen space for other things.

I for one think the MSN site is TOO wide.

If a webpage is giving me side scroll bars, someone made it too wide.

Most websites are still designed to be no wider than 800 pixels.

I have to agree, making websites wider then 800 pixels will be problematic for lots people. Heck it would cause problems for me at work because the size of my monitor there

I agree, it's far too wide. I have a wide Safari window and it is giving me horizontal scrollbars. As for the look of the site, it's not bad.

The actual content boundaries are only slightly wider than Apple's home page. But something else unseen (maybe blocked by my CSS) is giving me the horizontal scroll.

No matter. I never visit their web site or watch their TV channel.

I don't watch CNN ever, really. But as far as online browsing habits, they're my number one general news source. Excellent website and sister sites.

MSNBC just made my CNN choice all the better. Way too wide.

I wonder how wide it really is since the window title bar is so wide it hurts, here it is face to face with this thread's window title bar
