Is there any difference between the Standard version of Office and the Teacher/Student version (other then the price)? I purchased the standard version of v.X when I got my iMac from MacMall (because it was sooo cheap and they didn't offer the student/teacher edition at the time), and I want to know if I will be missing anything when I upgrade to the student/teacher edition (since I am a teacher and it is so cheap).
Thanks

I think I remember reading that it is the exact same except something about upgrading it.

Not exactly the same. Student/Teacher allows up to THREE different installs. They even give you three separate codes.

I'm aware of that. I bought it. He was asking if the App was any different. For that question the answer is no they are not different

I don't think you can upgrade the student version... you have to buy new every time.
(feel free to correct me on that one)

And of course you're not supposed to use the education edition outside of academia. Not supposed to.

Is there anything to actually stop you from upgrading the student edition? It's irrelevant for me at the moment, since a new student edition is cheaper than the standard upgrade, but one day I won't be a student. Do I have to then shell out for the full install version at the next new edition?

I don't think the serial number from the original version will work.

I have just put in the student teacher edition, and now its buggered up my fonts - the standard font in safari has changed!
Why does it install new fonts and change things?
Should I leave it or put the fonts it removed back?
Also it annoys me that safari has changed. Sodding microsoft
okay so restarted safari and everything was back to normal - just very peculiar, obviously altered fonts whilst open didn't help!
Also does anyone know how to move across a personal dictionary? Just spent months getting a reasonable number of terms in it and now am moving on!

I don't remember for sure, but I think there was an obvious menu choice to select an existing custom/user dictionary from within the spell checker of Word X. I'm using my old dictionary from Word 98, and however I got there, it was relatively painless.

Doesn't matter.
The student / teacher version is cheaper than the upgrade.
There is no special upgrade version for student / teachers.
