Good luck playing tonight. The update you're required to download is rather large.

Yeah, he needs to get to it. Buy the Legendary cars or the Cops N Robbers pack so you have some tight vehicles.

I'd get the Legendary cars since only Dakar has Cops & Robbers right now. You're going to need a decent stunt car for the online challenges.

Kevin Bogues Official Unofficial Officially Reviewed Review:

The open world city and fast paced racing is awesome, i love that every red light is a challenge and each takedown is just as satisfying as the last. Online integration is unreal to me and the ability to jump in/out of online is pretty revolutionary IMO. Really this game is fantastic, the unlicensed cars does annoy me but their real life partners are easily distinguished (Isuka GT = GTR R34) makes the pain not as great as i anticipated. I do find myself having issues with how to get to the nearest repair/junkyard/boost refill without looking at the map and trying to plan a route, also maybe i'm too focused on the action but i seem to miss a lot of turns during races as they come up so quick. So far i only have maybe 3 hours in but with what i have i'll go with
4 consecutive penguins victories to go to the cup/ 5. (probably the best 20 dollars you could spend on a 360 game right now, and i only spent 16)

The biggest challenge in the game is being able to look at the map without crashing. On unfamiliar routes it gets very dicey very quick.

So gents, are we playing tonight? I might be willing to forego the Laker game depending what time we start, who we have, or how its going.

i have a weak spot for DLC for some reason.
Also spent some time earlier trying to finish up billboards/smashes/jumps

Billboards 109/120
Smashes 394/400
Jumps 42/50

I think i'm going to have to start using a guide, i feel like i've been everywhere (obviously though i haven't)

In an attempt to not use a guide, i spent some more free time trying to bang these out (mostly during my run at the 25 burning routes achievement/burnout license)

I'm up to...
Billboards 117/120
Smashes 399/400 (its in harbor town, i've looked for over forty minutes)
Jumps 43/50

I've now officially decided to use a guide, hopefully i'll bang all three out tonight.

That maybe the same one I had trouble with. I remember the last Smash I had to find was in Harbor Town. It took me forever to find it (was using a guide too).

How many more wins until you get the Burnout license? I think I'm 25 wins away. Like you, I've been trying to knock out most of the Burnout routes. Some of them are can be quite challenging.

any idea where that one smash was?, i have yet to bust out the guide but i'm going to tonight.
I already got my burnout license, and need about 80 wins for my elite.

I'm surprised your having trouble with the burning routes, the 25 i did i passed first try and never had to restart one.

Yeah, I thought the burning routes would be worse than they actually were. I think it was the shitty van that gave me trouble. Basically any car that couldn't handle.

I rmember finding the last billboard in the middle of the race. I made a mental note and went back for it later. I was quite proud.

I'm really surprised you're not finding the super jumps, what with the flashing blue lights and all. I wonder if you haven't hit a couple of the weirder ones "both ways".

I was able to finish the van route on my first try. The key was to keep the boost up by constantly bumping into cars. It's those darn speed cars that are giving me trouble. Things are moving so fast that I usually crash into something when I try to use the map.

Criterion still hasn't announced BSI pricing, though now I've read it comes with more 9 cars?! That's a guaranteed $20. (Still a good deal).

Anyway, here's images for two of them.

Also, if you noticed your TA completion percentage go down, it's because they added the BSI achieves.

i've really come to like a lot of the cars in this game, it was a big factor early on but criterion has does a great job with making them "real" without the license. Usually in racing games i stick with my euro/import fetish but this game has some awesome old school/new school muscle.

This new "charger" looks to be a winner

EDIT: finally finished my smashes/billboards/jumps today, only used the guide for my single smash and two jumps (which i would of never found)

Here's the deal: For everyone that'll be on tomorrow night, I'll open a Friends Only room so you guys can just join as you log on. We'll be keeping it light on the events (Races, Marked Man etc.) and mostly just roam around exploring, doing stunt/jumps and taking each other down.

Well, if you're particularly tricky, you can leave your 360 when you leave in the morning and queue up the DL from the web.

Actually, since you're PST, yo could probably do it before you go to work.

Can you play another game while you're downloading DLC from the marketplace? I might boost my zombie genocidest achievement on L4D while my xbox is on all day.

Has Criterion explained why the PS3 version of BSI has double the achievements than the 360? I was really looking forward to jumping through Deese Donut for few gamer points.

That's easy. Sony has no constraints on trophies like MS and achieves. Also gamerpoints and trophies do not convert at 1:1 .

Actually, I forgot that I have a dinner party to go to for my boss. I'll probably be on at around 9:30 or 10.

By the way, I just downloaded it and played for like 5 min. Looks like this is going to be a great add on for the 1,000 pts. I think now that Burnout is taking up close to 5 gigs on my X-box hard drive. Down to only 3 gigs. Need to free up some space. Hopefully, I will see you guys on later tonight.

So it looks like the Island will have Toy versions of the Legendary Cars as unlockables. I'm not surprised as I was thinking that might be cool. The Toy Nighthawk should be damned unstoppable.
