I plan on getting the low end G4 iMac in April (hopefully most of the rush will be over by then). What would be a good place to get one? I am eligible for AppleStore education discount (but that is only 50 bucks). Anyone have any good experiences with particular online retailers? Should I go with the local MacStore up here? CompUSA maybe?

compare several online stores (www.macmall.com, www.macwarehouse.com, www.outpost.com, www.amazon.com, www.jandr.com) and look for the best packages (free RAM, free software). If you buy your iMac at Amazon right now, you get a Amazon coupon for $200 with it. Also, if the store is out-of-state, there is no sales tax. Call different stores, and ask them to match other offers.
Hope that helps.

Personally, I have purchased items from MacMall, ClubMac, and Outpost. Never had any problems. Check the site below to find the best deals. Maybe they will be shipping the new iMacs in good quantity by April! Good luck!

I personally REALLY like outpost.com . I have bought both my printer and iBook from them. Fast shipping and cheap overnight if you order something expensive like a computer. They have been bought out by someone since I have bought anything though, so I don't have any experience since then.

I also have had good experiences with outpost.com...but i dont know if they have free shipping anymore. i have gotten an imac, ibook, and ipod from them. I liked their fast shipping and the easy tracking option they have on their site. the imac i have now i got from clubmac...but the only reason i got it there was because at the time they have a deal to get a free 512 stick of ram (with installation fee like $20 i think) and a free printer with rebates...however i sent in my rebate to clubmac about 2 months ago and still havent gotten my check..only $15 but still. i did have some trouble with getting them to clear my credit card but that was the banks fault. i would get it at outpost.com unless you want to get some free stuff.
