I just got my new G5 iMac 20". Believe it or not, I am still overwhelmed with it! Anyway, one thing bothers me is that why is the battery icon on the top bar? it shoudn't be there? How do I remove it off from the bar?
Any idea why?? Anyone have the same experience? Thanks

Go to energy saver in your settings and uncheck "Show Battery Status In The Menu Bar" (its at the bottom)

Could you post a pic of your screen? There shouldn't be a battery icon on an iMac.

Isn't the standard method for removing menu bar items simply command-dragging it out of the menu ? It should disappear with the same "poof" that occurs when you remove something from the dock.
BTW, have you Xbenched your rig yet? I'm very interested in your disk scores and the model of drive you got (I assume you got the "stock" 160gb with your 20", yes ??

This happened to me as well. I think it was because I did the setup assistant with the firewire target disk between my iMac and my Powerbook.
I did the command Key while holding down the mouse button to drag it off of the bar.
