See you all later. I'm taking a little break.

I know a lot of you hate my guts, because I have the guts to take a stance, and to take hard action to keep things civil.

Right now, I need a break from the constant barrage of nastygrams and personal insults and death threats I get whenever I moderate. (OK, so I don't really get death threats. But the personal insults get annoying, since I don't have any such feelings towards anyone here. Not even Ca$h.)

So, enjoy, I'll see you on the flip side.

Wait, what sort of break are you taking? Until I got to this parenthetical, I thought you were going on vacation or something, you know, not be around 'NN for a few weeks. But, after reading that, it seems you just wont be posting, only moderating/admin'ing.

I'll respond to Mac questions, and if someone asks me to do something minor (like move a thread or delete a duplicate), I will. Otherwise, pretend I'm not an admin.

I think you do the job very well. Its sort of hard to please everyone, so do not worry much about some negative feedback. I believe that sometimes its better to leave things the way they are, and since human society is a self-organizing one, it will always settle on something rational.

Admins, in my opinion, should concentrate on those, who WILLINGLY try to unsettle things

and leave the rest to conscience of the discussion participants.

So take a break, print out some nice pictures on Canon inkjets and have a really, really calm and nice evening in front of TV.

You doing just OK and we are waiting for you to come back revitalized and full of usual energy and wisdom

I wish you well on your Sabbatical tooki. Hope that you will also get to take some actual vacation time. All of my experiences with you have been positive, we are all adults sad that some don't act that way. Hopefully you will returned renewed, relaxed, and refreshed.

I think we should have a rotating system of `tooki for a day', where each of us puts on the Bad Cop mask and marches around whacking people on the heads for misplaced threads, oversize sigs, poor behavior, etc. It'd be like slashdot, except without the anal sex.

This reminds me of an episode of Franklin, where Bear is made the safety officer on the bus and has to give all his friends tickets. So Goose, Raccoon, Rabbit, Fox, Snail, Beaver and Franklin are all sitting around saying they could do a better job and if Franklin was safety officer HE wouldn't give his friends tickets. Well you can guess what happened! Franklin became the safety officer and CHAOS reigned!

Here is a good example of what happens to a forum that is 'untookified'. (Warning, potentially offensive topic.)

The sigs are completely out of control, it will make your eyes burn and give you a headache trying to read it. That site seriously needs to be tookinated.

I don't think I've ever had much problems with the admins here... Ok I think I got really pissed off at ThinkInsane once... or... can't remember who that was, but that was in the days where every jack ass was posting anti-Christian threads perpetually.

But I've never had reason to be aggravated with the Tookster... oh well... I know how frustrating it can be to deal with morons when you have to mod their posts and they think that some how by being moderated you're ripping off their genitals and eating them or something... I hope yah feel better in the future.

Why do people make threads to announce they are taking a break or leaving NN? Do they really long for a reach around that much?
