I like the Kensington Mouse in a Box. The one with the really long, blue USB cable.

Why is Apple, quite possibly the most innovative interface design company on the planet, so completely inept at making mice?

Because mice are the most important functional peripheral, and Apple's strict adherence to form completely defeats that.
Edit: Also, your mom

It's funny how that mouse matches current hardware better than their recent mice, while their recent mice would match the older iMacs much better. A black&aluminum Magic Mouse would ooze sexy.

Yeah but I have a feeling that Apple would only make a black keyboard and mouse if the cabling all went black as well.
The last change was from that silver/clear cabling to the current white/light gray, I think it's time for a change.

They seems to redesign the insides with each revision. The arrangement now is perfection! (I am also a fan of the exterior)

The exterior is not the issue, the issue is that Apple really seems to neglect its Pro users more often... ( yes I know that Apple updates are slow... but I guess even by Apple's own standards.. they really seem to be neglecting this particular market segment.)

The issue is Mac Pros cost way too much.

Ya man.. so time to broaden that price range once again for towers. Entry level should be $1400-$1600... CAD/USD

One has to assume the MacPro sales either haven't dipped too terribly far or the margin is so incredibly good since they haven't done a thing about it.

I miss the black MacBook. It hid discoloration and dirt really well. Always looked nice.

BTW, it looks utterly useless. Or at least useless for 99.99% of the population.

It looks like it weighs a ton. Like my old PowerBook without the lid or something.
