I think what bothers me most is we all kinda knew this was going to be the outcome.

I read somewhere they worked for 15 minutes to resuscitate her on the plane (or after it landed). Thats a long time, she was probably already gone.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

This damn year...
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

The first story I saw said she was found unresponsive about 15 minutes prior to the flight landing. The paramedics worked on her once the flight landed.

This sucks.

Star Wars was the first movie I'd ever seen. She was the first on-screen crush I ever had.

Kudos to her for overcoming her demons over the years.

RIP

That's horrible of course, but even without it, this was one of my reminiscences...

Beat me to the punch. I was looking for pics when I sidetracked myself by starting to watch Hardware Wars on YouTube until Cox internet went down. (ETA 1330 MST) That's the down side of my brother switching from CenturyLink. Their upload sucks, but rarely lost the net. While I'm mom's I'll be hotspotting the iPhone .

DAMMIT!

From my read on the early news about Carrie, there were people experienced in CPR working on her before the plane landed. It seems that it's SOP for all flight attendants to be CPR certified, so that's probably who was "first on the scene." As a "person who knows CPR," I'd have been on my feet and working for anyone who seemed to need assistance on an airplane. Further, airliners apparently all have AEDs, which would be helpful in any cardiac emergency.

Now, Debbie being hospitalized is very troubling. She's 84, and just from her age and the environment she grew up in, she has a lot going against her. I'm hoping I'm not going to hate 2016 for yet another reason.

Last we heard, Carrie was stable in IC. I'm wondering if they determined she was brain dead, so someone had to authorize pulling the plug. As Carrie was unmarried at the time, that someone would probably be her mother. Which could explain her departure the next day.

Doesn't make anything better, but it would make sense. Has anyone heard what Carrie actually died of?

Nothing official AFAIK, the Mail is saying "complication from the heart attack." It's possible Carrie was without oxygen for up to 30 minutes, so being "brain dead" is quite possible.

I still can't believe she's gone. Following her for years on twitter gave a small glimpse into her life - she was her own woman and no one told her what to do, and whatever the consequences she carried on her way with her best friend Gary (her dog).

No doubt there was some major stuff in store for Leia, but I'm actually confident it'll be handled with respect.

They could handle it the way Stargate did. The character died off-screen, and a ship gets named after them. ie - George Hammond.

Skip 28 seconds because BB Code doesn't like &t=28

It's not BBcode this time. I just tried to modify our tag to pass the time code. You can do it already, by adding ?t=28s to the end of the vidcode. We're passing it on, but YouTube is ignoring it on embedded URLs.

Find me an example of an embedded YouTube video somewhere with working offset, and I'll see what can be done.

And here I was, expecting a clip of one of Lloyd Bridges' rants about "the wrong day to quit x". Slightly disappointed, but only slightly.

I'm still processing that Carrie is gone, and hopefully the use of humor (as I think she would have liked - maybe more snarky and sharper than "Airplane" level humor) will help.
