This morning i found out that the "N" and the "M" on the keyboard of my iBook G4 (3 months old) are half worn off. Shocking! Maybe this is because i cleaned my hands with a refreshment towel on the flight from cannes to germany yesterday. I have applecare and all that - will apple ship me a new keyboard for free or do i have to send the ibook in (which i will not do as the ibook is my production machine).

That is a question for Apple. They may not do anything at all if they don't consider it to be a manufacturer defect ...

I lost the "D" key on my still under warranty G3/800 iBook and Apple refused to send me just the missing key. I went to my local Mac reseller and they gave me one for nothing, including the 5 second installation.

I had a similar problem with half my "L" key coming off. I just went back to my reseller and they swapped out the keyboard for me. No problems.
