OK, this isn't exactly the most mission-critical problem I've ever had, but seeing like we're in the modern age of OS X computing, I feel like it should be simple - and still, I can't quite figure it out.
Currently I'm downloading my podcasts through the fabulous
NewsFire into the folder called ~/Miscellany/Podcasts. Because all the podcasts from NPR have an annoying 20-second "thank you" and advertisement at the beginning (and because I feel like I give enough money to NPR to exempt me from having to listen to this message), I would like to monitor additions to the ~/Miscellany/Podcasts folder and perform the following actions on them:
- Check to see if the filename starts with the string "NPR."
- If it does, clip the first twenty seconds from the audio file.
- Save the file and add it to my iTunes library.
Any tips?
