I have an ipod touch g1. I noticed that music videos that I purchase from itunes show up as Music Videos on my ipod and can be accessed through a playlist in Music or through Videos. Other video stuff that I put on there can only be accessed through Videos, under movies. By other video stuff, I mean ripped movies and such.
Anyone know how does the ipod categorizes video? I would like to make a playlist of the video stuff I rip.
Thanks.

Easy! Simply browse to the music video/video file of choice in iTunes, right click, and select get info. From there, browse to the tab labeled "Video Options" or just "Options" and look for the drop down menu called something like Movie Type. You should have 3 or 4 options (Movie, TV Show, Music Video, and something else I think....) to choose from. Select the appropriate one and click Ok. Sorry if this isn't completely clear, as I don't have access to iTunes at the moment.

Easy? Doable, but hardly "easy". I don't know why iTunes can't be more intelligent about this stuff. Boxee takes one look at the file and properly names and presents info about the video (synopsis, air date, play length, etc). It also grabs album art and properly sorts the files by Movies and TV Shows.

I find it really annoying that my iPod has a Music Videos section but iTunes itself doesn't. I have to label them Music Videos on my iPod and Movies on my iTunes to avoid them from being lumped in with all of my other audio files. Annoying and unintuitive (and pretty much my only beef with iTunes).
