A poll inspired by a recent Slashdot poll. What's your favorite science fiction space ship?

The last option is for you to list one that isn't listed, including Space Stations like the one on 2001, Deep Space 9, or Babylon 5. I just thought up some of the more popular ships.

NCC-1701-A should just be NCC-1701. I can't edit the poll.

Wasn't NCC-1701-A the ship that had multiple malfunctions?

Serenity - small, interesting, they usesurgical lights* on the bridge... and that is one damn cute mechanic.

*The little tabletop lights on the bridge are extremely high intensity surgical lights; my lab's got a couple and they're rather useful.

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.

I can't edit the poll.

That should be just NCC-1701 with no letter, not -A.

The White Star, from Babylon 5

(edit: although I concede that the bridge design of that ship was just lazy)

Tie between the Enterprise, MF, and the Rebel Blockade Runner (not listed). I think it was a cool design that never got used enough.

I've always had a thing for the Imperial Shuttles because it is so much design over function.

Heart of Gold (Book, not movie version) comes a very close second.

Moya, because there's nothing cooler than a ship that can give birth to baby ships.

Millenium Falcon is a close second only because of it's impractical design (off-centre cockpit) for flying through such things as asteroid fields and the throats of giant space lizards.

Appearently you and i have very differing views on what `cool` sounds like. (Though come on, every ship these days seems to travel through space and time when the plot calls for it)

I voted for Moya. Living ships with silly DRDs are always fun. Plus you`re bound to have a misfit group of people on board.

I voted for the Falcon.

I thought the Reliant was rad, too.

But I suppose my all time favorite would be the pair of dykes I used to play with when I was a lad.

Don't really care much for the internal layout, but it's pretty on the outside and the AI is very attractive, which makes it the overall winner, in my opinion.
