So i had this file, see, and now it's gone. i don't remember deleting it but it must have been. i spotlighted for it but nothing. is there a way to maybe get it back from the trash. i know i didn't secure empty trash....help i loved this file

How long ago was it? If it was extremely recently, you may have a chance of recovering it with DataRescue, which you can download *using another machine, not the one with the deleted file on it!* from http://www.prosofteng.com .

The most important thing to do is not to use your Mac to do anything until you've recovered the file. Every action that you do carries with it a chance that the file will be overwritten. If you've used your Mac much since you deleted the file, it will probably not be recoverable...
