The US government asked ISP's to voluntaraly block it.

I think the backbone providers blocked it.

I never heard about that. Maybe it's just down. It's not like the Taliban are rolling in dough or popularity these days. hahah.

Surprisingly enough for north americans, yes they are popular among the muslim world.

then the Muslim world continues to associate itself with those that do more to hurt Muslims than help them. Any Taliban supporters or sympathizers should be ashamed.

I don't know who you hang out with, but all of my friends that are muslim want absolutely nothing whatever to do with fundamentalist wackos like the Taliban. It's akin to claiming that the KKK is popular among Christians.
