I think that it's a case of asking people that they know are helpful, are technical enough to help and aren't biased.
It's always people who also have a Mac and have been here for a while. It's not as if people are signing up and within 10 minutes there first post is asking about help putting together a PC.
PC forums also seam full of unfriendly nerds with huge egos that don't like helping a beginner.

However it's not a trend that should be encouraged.
