I installed a DVR-103 "Superdrive" in my QS a few months ago and have really noticed that the read speeds from CD's is really really slow..

is this just a side effect from having a dual purpose drive?
to copy a whole CD (650 megs) it would take the drive about 10-15 min to do it...
it's actually faster to connect to my powerbook and use that CD drive and copy across the network..

is this common?
thanks
