Just saw that iproof systems announced iproofX, which will bring support for some Epson printers that are currently not supported in X .
Looking at the product description page, it appears it's a classic app that the OSX print center will recognize.
if so, how lame, I need to launch classic so I can print out of text edit?!?!?!

I guess if it will bring my $2500 epson 5000 back from the dead it's better than anything. at least until epson get's off their a$$

Sent an email to sales and this was the response I got back...

"Actually, iProof-X is a Direct Print Driver which will only run only with OS10 native Jaguar.

Here is a bit more information for you. You may also visit our website at <a href="http://www.iproofsystems.com." target="_blank">www.iproofsystems.com.</a>
iProof-X Direct Print Driver supporting OS10.2 Jaguar Native.

iProof-X Direct Print Driver for OS10.2 JAGUAR NATIVE users with Epson Inkjet printers. This product will be releasing the week of August 19th. This is not a PostScript RIP; it is an OS10.2 Jaguar native print driver which allows users to use OS10.2 Jaguar native as your operating system and still print to your current Epson printer. The driver will run the device in CMYK form to allow easier Color Management for color critical users. This new feature will give the ability to change color profiles associated with the papers and resolutions of the RIP. As with PowerRIP 2000 PostScript RIP, the color will not be distorted to make the prints look nice for the novice user.

Like our PowerRIP 2000 PostScript RIP, iProof-X assures that the colors you see on your monitor or analog proof are the accurate colors that you expect.
