Well the eye strain is getting to me... spending far too long playing on my MacBook c2duo.
I'm looking for an external monitor and can't afford the Dell 24" which I've read recommended in other posts. I've noticed this 19" widescreen on the Dell site.... would this do the job????
TIA
Steve

I think you'd be a lot happier with the 20" widescreen (1680x1050) than the 19" normal (1280x1024... so giant pixels).

20" widescreen is sweet. I use it for my MBP.

Get the cheaper Dell 20" widescreen - not exactly sure of the model number, but it runs about $220.00

Yea, the E207WFP is great if you don't need VGA/svideo/composite inputs.

I have a Dell monitor for my Macbook. The quality is nice and monitor spanning is awesome. You should definitely go for the widescreen.

OK I'll probably go for the 20".
How are those who use external monitors using them...
Do you use it in dual screen mode? - any performance hit with this?
Do you use the MacBook's keyboard or have an external keyboard and mouse?
Thanks
Steve

Looks very nice. A good place to look up electronic reviews is Cnet.com
They may not have that specific model but you can look for other monitors.

I've used it both ways with my MBP C2D. I've never used it with my MacBook first-gen, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work just as well. No performance hits, no issues with closed-lid mode or external mouse & keyboard.

It's a lot more to pay if you don't need the extra inputs and USB hub, though.

Lately I've found myself wishing I'd gotten the one with the USB hub. My MBP has only 2 usb ports, and using it in closed-lid mode tied up both (keyboard, mouse). I got a cheap hub for the mouse and keyboard, leaving me with one free USB 2.0 port. I've since found I'd like to have multiple USB 2.0 peripherals hooked up at once, but don't want to have another hub. Maybe down the road I'll replace my 20" Dell widescreen for one with the USB ports.
Just some thoughts to consider.
