In the interests of proving ourselves capable, let's use this thread to say nice things. Post nice stories, nice comments, all without bickering. Use good manners. No plusones. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Can't think of a nice story? Say something nice about the person above you, or the weather.

Will this thread make it past page one? I think it can.

I will open cautiously: MacNN is a nice place to talk with people about diverse subjects.

Thank you to Kevin for the idea.

I got a PM from NYCFarmboy today. It was unexpected, and it was very nice.

One of my colleagues went to Hawaii, and he brought back some outstanding coffee for me. Also unexpected and very nice.

As for the person posting above me, Andi-Pandi has a heart of gold and is just a damned fine person. And that's not just fluff, it is an honest assessment.

I'm getting my new work laptop today.

The bad news: it's still just a Dell

Wow, I just took the humor test that said I was 93%ile for DARK humor. I thought that was a little unrealistic. Then I went through my top 5 responses to this thread and realized the 93rd percentile is probably a little low.

So I learned something about myself today. (And I still want to choke this thread with a thick river of green pus, but won't because andi*pandi is pretty cool.)

My son was really excited about his field trip to the museum today. He woke up and dressed himself with a smile on his face. I love the little guy.

Almost 40 degrees here in the "north coast." Heat wave baby!

This thread, thus far, is quite nice and I enjoy it.

I had a Guinness with lunch down at the pub. Makes for a more enjoyable Friday afternoon when there's lots of work to be done.

That' was a total lounge classic. Beer, pizza, chips and "more" were passed around. Good times.

My wife brought home T-bones last night... I expected take-out or fast food. Very tastey surprise.

And I have leftovers for lunch.

Hey! No threads about members...

oh sorry, I thought this thread was about wdlove.

Speaking of which, how can this be a "nice" thread without one of his always positive posts being in here?

Monique, I agree, Paris is my favorite place in the world and I am taking steps to go back more permanently.

I am relaxing on my couch, typing on a PC that will soon be replaced by a MacBookPro because my old mac broke down.

I am about to get up and go to the gym to get on the bike and do some lifting. I always feel much better afterwards.

Wish you all a happy weekend.

Why would I go broke if I were to have a job there? that would just be fantastic to have a job in that beautiful city.

I am restoring a 1981 GS850 and picked the paint color today. The painter even gave me a bigger discount than he first said! It is killer, a dark pewter type color from a 2005 BMW I saw. Black frame and a nice shiny engine that I just cleaned up. I paid $400 for it, not running. I put a new battery in it and put 4 $0.14 screws into the carbs and got it running.

Great deal and a perfectly running bike.

From the lounge menu page, in the upper right hand side, the P/L last post thread title is listed.

The thread, "Americans want Bush impeached, didn't want Clinton impeached" is shortened to read...

"Americans want Bush..."
I think that is a nice statement. It reminds me of the joke when the diner with a thick Italian accent tells the waitress in the restaurant, "I wanna fork" and she misinterprets him to say, "I want to fuxx." She replies, "EVERYBODY wants to fuxx."

Most Americans want Bush. Or bush. Both groups, together, comprise a majority.

Nice.

I wonder if this observation will affect future P/L thread titles.

Well, sometimes too much Bush is distracting and makes life difficult. Sometimes a little trim is nice.

My lunch today consisted of peanut M&Ms and I worked late on a problem I couldn't fix. But then I came home and had a nice 5.5 mile run; There was a nominal breeze blowing across the Mall but the flags looked pretty around the Washington Monument.

And I was informally offered a job today at our NYC location which means I'll (probably) be moving back North by July.
