I was wondering, can I replace a 256 stick of ram in my g4 933 running OS X 10.4.8 with a 1 gig stick of ram and if I can how much will that increase performance. Oh yeah, right now I have a 256 stick and 2 512 sticks of ram installed.
I'm guessing you have a Quicksilver with the 3 DIMM slots. I'm pretty sure you can only put 3x 512meg DIMMs in there for a total of 1.5gig. I don't think that computer can use 1gig DIMMs.
Going from 1.25gigs to 1.5gigs probably wouldn't be a huge difference.
True that. Must be a QuickSilver 2002, it has three PC133 slots of 512 ram for a maximum of 1.5 gigs. If you just have to do it, toss the 256 chip and replace it with a 512.
