A lawyer who previously worked on behalf of Apple has filed a lawsuit against the company, for allegedly violating anti-discrimination laws. Attorney Feras Mousilli claims Apple failed to accommodate his religious beliefs in various ways, and that Apple has a hostile working environment that allowed other employees to make "inappropriate jokes about the war in the Middle East, ISIS terrorists, and the war taking place in Syria."
According to the complaint filed at a San Jose state court, reported by Fortune, Mousilli claims to have been discriminated because of his race and national origin, with the discrimination including a "lack of a formal introduction to the department," a refusal to have Arabic writing on the back of his business cards, and frequently being told he was not a good "cultural fit" for the company. It is also alleged Apple refused to alter the timing of weekly meetings with his supervisor so that he could attend Friday prayer sessions.
Mousilli was terminated in January last year following accusations he breached confidentiality obligations by showing a prototype device to friends and family over video. It is claimed the accusations were false as the information at issue had "already been publicly disclosed months earlier." Specifically, Mousilli showed the Mickey Mouse display for the Apple Watch, one previously demonstrated on stage by CEO Tim Cook during the Apple Watch's launch.
The lawsuit seeks at least $25,000, which is said to include back pay, other monetary and punitive damages, and compensation for emotional pain and suffering. Apple declined to comment to the report about the suit.

Only $25,000? For workplace lawsuits, that's peanuts. Maybe he set the sum low so Apple would just pay to get rid of him.
Not good to sue a former employer though. It tends to make potential employers reticent to hire you. "Hey, you don't want me. I'm thin-skinned and like to sue."

All about diversity in the workplace but muslims are not a good fit for a secular company with a gay CEO. Just saying.
