While there are several interesting individual savers -- RollerCoaster certainly comes to mind (also home to "DasBlinkenLights", and what a cool looking website!) -- those who like Fenêtres Volantes should probably check out Carousel.

Carousel is part of the <XScreenSaver> collection, a bunch of modules ported from Linux/Unix X11 Window systems. Carousel works best for me when pointed to my folder full of album cover art (jpegs).

Also included in that (free) XScreenSaver collection are 200 other savers (okay, so they're not ALL great). Some of the highlights are: Atlantis, BouncingCow [2 die 4], FlipScreen3D [similar to Fenêtres], FlyingToasters [slick], Gleidescope, GLSlideshow, Molecule, Phosphor, Sproingies, Superquadrics, XAnalogTV [not so great maybe], and XMatrix [better than Red Pill].

If you like the Matrix look go for Red Pill:

Red Pill 1.4.2 - MacUpdate

But I also really like Fentres Volantes.

Videation Nation is also cool if you want to turn your iMac/Book into a mirror:

Videation Nation 1.0 - MacUpdate

*edit* Almost forgot! Skyrocket is also amazing!:

Skyrocket 1.2.1 - MacUpdate

Electric Sheep

Folding@home

AbstractMotion

Finally one that I really like. It's simply art. Just leave it running for a few minutes.

substrate it's included in this xscreensaver collection or DL it here.

If you're on Tiger, many cool Quartz compositions can be used as screensavers.

See QuartzComps - Quartz Composer Resource or http://www.quartzcompositions.com/

dont try all those previews.... some of them took up 100% cpu, forcing me to restart because i couldnt do anything.

hopefully there will be better cpu power handling for quartz in safari in an update.

Yeah sorry, should have warned you not to try and preview them in Safari. Alt-click to download them and then check 'em out in Quicktime Player.
