Hi,
I have admitted to 1 year diploma course of animation just a week ago ,can one please suggest me the best software for animation.

They'll probably tell you what software you'll be using. It's likely listed some place.

Don't be afraid to NOT use a computer during the course, you will learn a lot. Good luck studying.

I do a little bit of animation in my work and I use Adobe After Effects (CS3) for film/TV. For web I use Flash8 (CS3). Maybe that helps?
I'm fixing to learn Maya8 which seems to be the foremost 3D animation package.
