My iBook is time stamping files and folders 7 hours ahead of the time the computer says it is i.e. the Date modified says 20:38 if I created the file or folder at 13:38.
It's not a really big problem, but it is strange - any ideas?

Is your time zone correct in system preferences?

To choose doubt as a philosophy of life is akin to choosing immobility as a means of transportation.

Yes. I have also tried changing to a timezone 7 hours later than mine, but it made no effect other than to change the system time.
BTW, I'm still on 10.1.5 - I want Jag but will hopefully get a new 12" PB when they get their first revision.
Thanks

Well, I'm stumped.
You might want to try posting this in the OS X forum, as it sees more traffic, and this problem is likely not iBook-specific.

In case anyone needs to know, I fixed this by creating a new user, loggin in as him (or was it her?..) then logging back in as myself.
I don't understand why this should fix the problem, but it did.
(iIve posted here since there were more views than in the OSX forum)
