My iBook is the only computer set up (via USB) to the printer in our office, an HP 2300L laserjet. I just set up Abbey's Windows 2000 machine to use this printer on network location http://<IP of My Machine>:631/printers/hp_2300LaserJet_2300L

When I try to print a test page from Abbey's machine, it finds the printer alright, but it just prints out a bunch of garbage.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem?

(or should this go in a different forum?)

Thanks,

immsav

Does the HP LJ 2300L understand Postscript or PCL?

If so, I would try to change the data stream from ASCII to binary and vice versa.

If not, make sure that the `raw' option in CUPS is set and that a driver is properly installed on the windows machine.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
