I own a black macbook (the first revision) which came with 1gb of RAM. Does anyone know how many slots are in this computer, and whether the ram is in 1 chip or 2 x512?
I'm planning on getting some more ram with leopard and trying to max the computer out as much as possible without rendering all of the RAM that came with the computer useless.
Thanks for the help.

If it is 2x215, can the macbook hold 3 gigs (basically, i'm trying to find out if I can get a 2GB card to put the computer at 2.5 GB using one of the 512 that come with the machine.

The original MacBooks can onl read 2x1GB RAM as far as I know. Some of the Core 2 Duos will supposedly read up to 3.3GB, but I have never tried this. Might do that actually.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Core Duo MacBooks support 2GB (2x1GB is better than 1x2GB for video performance).
