I just did a clean install and update to 10.8. There are a LOT of mouse button options in the expose settings 200+. I don't recall seeing them before but it's been a while. Is this normal?

TIA

I assume you mean 10.3.8.

If the dropdown window list shows hundreds of entries, that's not normal. I would suggest trashing the Expos preferences in ~/Library/Preferences.

Also, let the rest of us know where you found a 200+ button mouse.

My Expose pane doesn't even have a mouse drop down menu. Does it only appear for people with multi-button mice?

Either it was a stray bluetooth mouse playing havoc or maybe it was me poking around during the update. It was a fresh install so I didn't have much invested. I reinstalled and now only have options for middle & right mouse.

Maybe Apple's finally decided to produce a multi-button and this bug is a hint of what's to come at the next Mac World.

I am guessing that there's 256 mouse buttons in the menu and a bug with your mouse driver.

There isn't much purpose to having a mouse button selector if you've only got one mouse button, is there?

While the selector doesn't let you select the "left" mouse button, the Expose prefs would be useful if it did. Expose prefs let you set the options to work with a button and modifier key combination. For example, I could program Command-Option-Shift Right Click for one of the options. Theoretically you could program your one and only button to work this same way (if Apple gave you that option).
