My father in law wants to dump his PC and get a Mac. He also has a small pub (about 20 employees). He uses QuickBooks (v. 6 I think) on his PC. But I found out that he only uses it for payroll. From what I've seen, QB 2005 doesn't have it built in, but uses Top Pay.

If he is only doing payroll, would he even need QB for the Mac? Isn't Top Pay available in a stand alone version? My father in law uses me for his "tech support" for most matters, but I'm definitely not an accountant type.

Are there other payroll-only programs out there for the Mac? Thanks.

Yes, I forgot to mention that one. I should have been more specific in asking if anyone has personal experience with payroll.
