Take a look at this link: c0nn0r.info/say.html. It is a web interface to the OS X 'say' command - the one that allows you to use Apple's text-2-speech software from the command-line. Not really useful, but fun . The cool thing is that I can easily modify my script to be able to pass parameters to any shell command. Could be interesting.... and dangerous!

I am not sure if I understand you. You put the script on a friends computer and invoked it via ssh? If so, why did you need a script to run a shell command? Or did you put the script on a friends computer and also build a web interface so anyone on the web could make it talk?

1. log-in via ssh
2. use vim to write a quite bit of php
3. start apache
4. distribute the url to loads of friends

needless to say, i was rumbled shortly after, and he changed all the login info and turned ssh off. bugger.
