Ever since I started using RSS in Safari, I've noticed something that doesn't seem quite right. I have subscribed to a number of feeds and in Safari's RSS Preferences I have it set to automatically update articles, to check for updates every 30 minutes, and to color new articles.

The problem is that it usually doesn't seem to be checking for updates until I actuallly select one of my RSS bookmarks. Then it shows me the old content, and then in a second or two it updates itself with the new articles, properly colored. But because it's never updating the new article count in the bookmark, I can't tell if there are new articles for any of my feeds without actually going to it. The one exception seems to be Digg... for some reason it does show how many new articles are there, right in the bookmark. As for my other feeds, is this a configuration problem on my part and/or is there something I can do to fix this? Any help would be much appreciated!

Les
