Yeah, it connects to a MAC.

There's an AppleStore in Beaverton (Tigard technically) in Washington Square.
There's a place called "The Mac Store" in the place that used to be Beaverton Mall... Pioneer something now.

There's actually TWO Apple stores in Tigard. Lucky bastards.

And, if by "sitting" you mean he has no transportation, the bus line is fantastic! (http://www.trimet.org)

I'm also quite sure he can find a Fry's or CompUSA close by, too.

The Mac Store is now over by Llyod's Center. Just a block or two west. There might be two though, but that's the only one I know of off the top of my head.

There is an Apple store downtown near (in actually) Pioneer Place. I believe the Yellow Max line will take you there. There is also an Apple store up in Beaverton/Tigard (two as mentioned, but I've only been to one).

There is actually a couple of Mac Stores in the Metropolitan area of Portland. Yes.
It's a pretty good place to live if you're shopping retail for Apple.

I can also recommend highly Trimet. Best Bus system I've ever ridden

To elaborate I believe that any of the Max lines will take you to Llyod's Center.
