Hey all,
since I was here last, I have ran into one more glitch. After EVERYTHING, I ran new prototypes with the new production process, printing process and plastic only to find out that the shrinkage (yes there's shrinkage) is different from before. All of the laptop skins are now too small and do not fit properly. I thought this might happen but would not know until prototypes were created. So, in a nutshell, all new molds are being created a little larger. And yes, StarWars skinz along with the artist series will help finance this. One more thing I can say is that I plan to use what I've accomplished with the artist series PodSkinz and apply it to the laptops. I also have some artists lined up that elevate the artist series to a new level.

I would also be interested in knowing how long it will take before we see something finalized..

Seems like the update is finally near..
It's been a long and difficult road for iBook and PowerBook skins. The molds are done and we have finally solved issues that arose during production. Thanks to those who are waiting. We are aiming for late November 05.

Please tell me that these are better quality than the similar product sold at welovemacs.com! My girlfriend got the jaguar skin but while it looks nice in the photos and from a few feet away, in real life the print resolution is quite poor and very pixelated. (Each pixel measures over 1mm square.)

The Macskinz ones are vinyl stickers... they're a thin peace of plastic that goes over the cover of the Powerbook / iBook
Their old products..

MacSkinz are NOT vinyl stickers! They are formed plastic shells that are about as thick as a credit card (.030+-).

not to beat a dead horse here, but I would have bought a few of these if they'd been around. Now I'm thinking about a MacBook Pro, and I'm glad to see that some other company has picked up the mantle here and has something to offer in the way of protection: SeeThru Hard Case for 15" MacBook Pro
