I'm still waiting on mine (I actually have *three* unrelated packages currently out for delivery), and I have to go teach in 30 minutes.

I imagine it'll be here when I get back.

For those of you who have got it, did you have to sign for it? I left a signed note on my doorstep asking them to leave it for me. It is out for delivery right now. I hope they leave it.

I had to sign whenever FedEx delivered it. Since you left the signed note, they will most likely leave it for you.

I currently live in Asia but will get Panther deliver to my sister in CA. She will then mail me the discs. Talk about desperately waiting.

Can someone tell me what exactly is in the Panther package that needs to be forwarded to me. How many discs are there and is there anything else besides the discs that I will need?

My sister is absolutely clueless about computers so I want to be exactly clear in my instruction to her on what to mail. I want her to use the smallest envelope possible to avoid any problems or delays with local customs' inspections or charges. Thanks.

Extremely disappointed not getting a boxed version. I got 7b85 earlier already, and spend $20 just for the box.

Panther shipped overnight and arrived at 9:16 AM Eastern today in Red Hook, New York. Picked it up from Annandale-on-Hudson at 11:30, installed it and started playing by 1PM. (That's about two hours north of NYC, btw.)

Arrived Via FedEx Friday 12:35PM.

I have mixed feelings because:

1. I just sold my PowerBook
2. Now I don't have anything to use Panther on.
3. Of course this gives me a GREAT reason to go out and get another laptop!

Pittsburgh PA - arrived 12:30 Fed Ex

hang in there, you'll still probably_receive it today...

final sys update run, permissions repaired, backup done, and installer estimating 11 minutes to go....

(logged in from ibook, next victim....)

Anyone w/ thoughts on Apple not allowing one person to operate OS on Desktop and Laptop for one person? I know they did thru 10.1, or at least Apple Store Rep said so when ordered then. When placed this order, rep asked me what machines I would run this on, and tried to get me to purchase additional licenses.

I could see it, for a family, or multiple individuals, but if I am the only one switching back and forth, seems unfair....like the good ol' days...when we walked uphill to school 7 miles in a blizzard...

Less than 1 minute, got to go!!!

No, I think you're still too stupid to get it (although don't get me wrong, I'm glad people like you exist. Otherwise, who would collect the garbage?). I just got off the phone and they happily refunded my money.

And I got it at 9 AM EST so I still got it before most anyone else.

Let me know if I used too many syllables in the above sentences.

I'm not going to call an ambulance this time because then you won't learn anything.

Ughh - Of all days for my apartment office to close for meetings, they choose today. FedEx attempted a delivery but no one was there. FedEx didn't leave a note, so I'm hoping they will make a return trip to my complex later this afternoon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If they don't, I'm going down to the FedEx depot and camping out until the driver shows up

Mine arrived about 1 p.m. Unfortunately, I ordered two copies and Apple only saw fit to ship one. Someone else in my office ordered two and got two, so I assume there was a foul-up somewhere. I'll call Apple Monday, just in case the second copy arrives in a separate box.

Is there such thing as a (Mac) mail curse? First my pb sleeve goes MIA in the mail, then FedEx loses track of my panther package, which was scheduled to arrive before noon today (it's currently 1pm). The last known activity was on Wednesday! Oiy. Now I have to wait for them to call me back.

ETA: so to answer your question - no, FedEx hasn't delivered Panther yet

It might have been tested on a G4 powerbook with everything running fine so far.

First, congrats to those that received their up-to-date Panther today.

My order status on Thursday night was still listed as open, so I called Apple and the rep said not to worry - it would be here Friday. I called again this afternoon and another rep said it would maybe *ship* Friday, but since its ground I wouldn't get it for a few days anway. I explained that according to many people on different forums, ground was upgraded to 2nd day or overnight so everyone would have Panther on Friday (people that paid for overnight are even getting refunds); or I would have paid for overnight.

Now I check my order status and it says est. ship - on or before 10/29/03.

Not very happy ... calling Apple again now, but I don't really expect much to be done.

Oh, well; something to be thankful for: my 10 day old PB 17" 1.33 is a dream, no bad pixels or other problems at this point!

Sorry for the rant, everyone

PS, just got off the phone and was "upgraded" to standard overnight when it does ship. Better than nothing.

Alright! According to the Fed-Ex tracking page, my copy was delivered at 1pm! It is sitting there waiting for me. Only an hour left of the workday! I'm such a geek!
