How can I change the file icon by using AppleScript in OS X?

In OS 9, I can use "set icon of item a to icon of item b" to change a file icon, but this doesn't work in OS X, I got a error "Unknown object type" during runtime.

That's currently not implemented in the Finder's AppleScript suite (even though it's listed in the dictionary). Not really anything we can do other than wait for a future OS version to fix it.
