I restarted Gears of War 1 last week and played through a few levels. I am really excited for this game now.

I'll be stopping by some video game store on the way home from work on Friday and then spending the rest of the weekend playing.

after wasting my entire morning skipping classes and reading/watching reviews, we must get together and play some horde mode this weekend in the least, friday at 7pm i'll be on if any of you geeks wants to meet up.

Did anyone buy their copy yet?

I happened to find it on sale yesterday so I played a few hours of the campaign. It's pretty much more of the same old Gears of War; which in my opinion, is a very good thing. I'm really enjoying the story mode.

I'll have my copy in a couple of hours. Poor sek. We were playing Halo 3 last night when his mic died. Perfect timing, just hours before GoW 2 is released.

I'd buy the wireless mic if it wasn't 60 damn dollars. Who knows how it died, it was working fine a few days ago and I haven't even moved it from it's storage spot, sigh, mics hate me.

In other news I just woke up, just got paid, and I'm heading to my local game emporium.

The g/f was whining at my plan for geekdom so it might not be until kinda late that I'm able to play with you guys.

Women can't live with em, can't have heterosexual sex without em.

Edit: Just fired the 360 up and it seems the mic is working fine now

I've had problems with my mic before when I've kept it on mute too long. The best solution I could find was switching controllers. Unplugging the mic or taking out the battery didn't work. Maybe that's what happened to you.

Well, I got one of the last two (at least on the shelf) copies at Wal•Mart. I also got all the midnight release stuff too, makig this the polar opposite of my amazon GTA experience. The stuff includes an 80s like wristband that would fit my calf, a key chain, and the gold weapon code.

I'll be adding the folks shortly and jumping on soon.

Well, so far the game is pretty damn epic. Way more so that the beginning of Gears 1.

Also, the feature when you get 'killed' and are able to crawl to your nearest buddy is pretty damn sweet, I've already used it a couple times, even though I'm only playing on normal...what can I say, I'm pretty rusty at this game.

Also also, the mortar launcher is teh balls.

I logged on, played some awesome matches with dakar and geoffries. In the middle of some Hoard (wave 5) i get a screen freeze and ....i restart....and RED RING OF DEATH... (i hate you microsoft!!!, but i love your games)

I definitely need an online campain buddy. Had some good fun with Dakar and KLB.

Gripes: I HATE the fact that seeing as it takes a good amount of time to get a match going, that you auto disband after its over. Should be lik GOW1 where the party simply continues on unless someone just wants to leave.

The multi itself I love. It is how you get into a game now that bugs me. Just takes too long. No searching a list of games and hoping in where I see fit.

But the tweaks to the online game play I love. As it stands, I've been a beast online since i got the game. I'll definitely say that I don't think everyone who owned in GOW1 will do the same in 2.

I'll be home playing Gears until around 9, at which point I'm bringing my 360 to my friends place for some dual-screen co-op action.

I agree 100%. For every 10 minute match, you have to wait 5 minutes to get it started... and you might end up with a gametype you really don't want.

They should at least let you stay with the same group, rather then dumping you back out into the void.

Everything else is amazing though. I'm loving the single player and the multi. We should get some Team MacNN horde action going on.

I'm in a tense area right now, something big is about to go down. Then I look over at Dom and he is standing on top of the railing next to me.

Even when I go into the next room, he stays put....hopefully he decides to join me soon.

As long as you invited the people, or they invited you, you stick together. Happened to me a bunch today with no issues.

The matchmaking is awesome. It gives me "Remote parties restarted the matchmaking process" to infinity.

They will patch it. The first Gears had all sorts of problems and they did a good job of patching it eventually.
