Same here. One word... EPIC!
I had a marathon 10 hour co-op run as Dom on normal. When you messaged me I was in the first seconds of a Horde match that we ended up going 17 rounds in.
After that my hand kinda cramped up and I felt it was time to stop playing.

Just finished the game now. Very cool.
I agree with everyone on the multiplayer lobby system that takes a few minutes to find a game. Played some Horde last night and we got to round 17 but then we all died. Much prefer it to regular style multiplayer since everyone was working together instead of just running off by themselves and thus defeating the purpose of the game -- Guardian mode comes to mind.

Hey Dakar, sorry for backing out on you at wave 20 (or whatever) but I had a big roast turkey waiting for me.
Also, that game was f**kin insane, I must've gotten like 30 headshot sniper kills.

I wanted to strangle the dude who kept dying.
And I don't care. Only way we're making it to 50 is with 5 guys we know on casual.

You saved my ass a few times.
Of course I'm sure you noticed what weapon I tend to gravitate towards. Although I'll always pick up the chaingun, gotta love the whine sound it makes when it starts to overheat.

Horde eats up mountains of time.
Just reached to level 27, and then the entire lot of us got trampled.

Multi is a little lame. Guardian gets vetoed constantly, and I'm not a big fan of Warzone.

Nothing to be proud of, but...
The unfortunate thing is Horde gets compiled with the rest of your stats, which completely skews them.

BTW, I'm already sick of the buzzsaw. It's like melee in early Halo 3, only about 1000x worse.

I think martyr is when you pull the pin on a grenade when you've been downed.

I'm so totally getting this game this week sometime. I am going to be out of town tomorrow through Friday, so no go there. But after that I'm going to buy this game and go at it like a conjugal visit.
I won't be as available as I used to be with Halo (too much real life crap going on right now), but it sounds like this game is pretty hot on the multi-player front so count me in (soon).
I haven't finished Dead Space yet, but I've suddenly become a bit bored with it. So I'm going to put it down for a while, maybe come back to it later.
The other game on my list is Fallout 3. But from what I understand, that is a single player type of game.

I am back, man i'm loving this game. I'm really trying to get through the campaign (sorry to miss out on the horde invite sek) maybe its me but "Hardcore" is pretty difficult (I beat Gears 1 on hardcore solo style). Anyone know if i finish the campaign if it will unlock the casual and normal achievements along with the hardcore one (for game completion)? I sure hope so.

Yeah, you'll get the lower achievements upon completion of hardcore.

Thursday is much better than Friday for me, mostly because my g/f will want to, I dunno, do something on Friday night.
Whatta bitch.
Otherwise I'll be on this afternoon/tonight and pretty much all the time for the next few days.

Horde certainly makes it way harder to get a team together. In Halo you might have to wait 5-10 minutes for your buddy to be available, in Horde...god, who the hell knows when they'll be ready to play.
If I see you sign on I'll quit whatever game I'm in so we can max out playtime.

I've been meaning to review the multi, but one of Halo's strengths was the predictability of the game length. I had a game of Meatflag Sunday that ended in under 3 minutes. I had a game of Warzone that went for almost 10 because 2 rounds ended in stalemate (We had one dude that would hide in the same place every round, and wouldn't come out to kill anyone. He accounts for the two stalemates, and culminated in a round where he downed an enemy, walked over to him, stood there til he got back up, and got killed. Later three enemies surrounded him for the final kill, humping his body relentlessly).
It'd also be nice if people could join games in progress like the last one. Host could even set an option to add/drop a bot to keep parties even. It'd be really nice for Horde mode, where people tend to drop eventually.
Has anyone noticed the rather detailed stats available after games (excluding Horde)?
Oh, and I'm pretty sure you need to back out to main menu to save your last game's stat to the server, which is ridiculous, given that annoying "Updating Network Information" you have endure after each return to the Multi screen after a game.
Edit: Oh yeah, is it even possible to quit out of games? I don't see the option available ever, but the number of people I've seen drop would lead me to believe they're not just exiting to the Dashboard.

Seriously, it's amazing how much I can nitpick on the game experience (Like having to endure multiple loading screens to transition from the main menu to the multi menu to the multi lobby). bungie is underappreciated.

I truly do wonder why this isn't implemented, in the least allow people to join in on a horde match after the current round during that stat screen that pops up.

Which is why so many people who either hate Halo or play PC games don't understand the love that Bungie gets.
Bungie is the gold standard for online matchmaking systems for consoles.
