Explorer Sucks the Life out of Me!
I remember seeing that recently on one of these sites and it's true. IE5 absolutely STOPS background processes/applications. Using SoundJam 1.6 on my g4 450 320MB RAM, conversions go at about 5x running in foreground. Using Navigator with SJ in the background I get 4.8x as I am typing this message. Running IE5, SJ goes down to .2x then stops COMPLETELY.
So much for cooporative multitasking.
I'm sticking with Netscape.

This isn't anything new. Internet Explorer had done this in the last few releases as well.

Internet Explorer won't play fair until Carbon (or Cocoa) and Mac OS X force it to.
